The "day" of love

Happy late Valentine's day readers!

I'm not a big Valentine's celebrating girl, especially with the hub bub of overpriced roses, boxed chocolate and dinner at a very crowded restaurant.  If you do like that sort of thing then more power to ya!  I'm sure the florists, Hallmark, Russell Stover are all appreciative of ya too - hehe.  In saying all of this, I got to spend it just how I wanted - with Watson.

Our day consisted of the following...

Work
Me getting Rhogam shot :(
Coming home and putting on PJ pants
Watson and I cooking dinner in, specifically a Giada pasta special and red wine (Watson) - yum!
Me helping Watson pack then going to bed very early since he had to get up at 4 something for an early morning flight.

There ya have it!  Romance at it's finest.

DISCLAIMER:  Watson did say "I would make Valentine's Day a big deal if that's what you wanted."   Ha - poor guy!  I know he would because he did in college but I kind of put a halt to it once we got married.  Maybe next year when Riggs can make us a Valentine Craft at pre-school we'll I'll appreciate the holiday more.....

Hope each of you got to spend your day with the ones you love!

28 weeks - Bring on the 3rd Trimester!

28 weeks or 84 days, to be exact, until due date

Total weight gain?  Gaining daily/weekly but right on track
Size of baby:  about 2.5 lbs.
Maternity clothes?  yes
Stretch marks? shhh, don't talk about them and maybe they won't appear
Sleep? some nights good, some not so good
Best moment of the past few weeks?  Getting flowers "just because" from Watson.  That's what is great about him - he just knows when I'm a little off.  After my drs. appointment, I was feeling a little blue to say the least.  Let me just say, stepping on the scales is NEVER fun nor does it get any easier.  I know weight gain and pregnancy go hand in hand but there's just something about seeing numbers pop up that I've never seen before... and to think it's only going to increase for the next couple of months.  Anyway, back to my appointment. Then the nurse proceeds to explain the glucose test (which is why I'm there) "you will need to drink this 10 oz. of fruit punch syrupy concoction within 5 minutes while you watch a video on epidurals, then you'll sit here for an hour and will then have your blood drawn."  REALLY?!  Basically, chug sugar on an empty stomach while watching needles go into a person's back then sit here for an hour and get all worked up over labor and delivery then go have 4 tubes of blood drawn.  Happy day to me!  Needless to say a healthy Baby Boy and the flowers brightened my day :)  Thanks Watson!

On another note, we finally decided on a name!!
Riggs Crocker Leonard

Miss anything?  My independence.  Being able to do what I want to do, eat and drink what I want to, move how I used to be able to, wear what I want to, lift what I want to...
Movement?  Definitely!
Food cravings?  cereal.  I could eat it every meal - specifically Cheerios, Cinnamon Cheerios, Special K Cinnamon Pecan and Special K Blueberry.  Gotta change it up sometimes!
Anything make you queasy or sick? not that I've come across lately
Symptoms:  sciatic nerve pain = AWFUL!
Gender prediction? It's a boy!
Belly button, in or out? in
Wedding rings, on or off? on
Happy or Moody? Moody!  I'm a big ball of emotions -  happy to scared to nervous to anxious  to happy, well you get the picture... (read story from above)
Looking forward to? So many things: finishing up the nursery, my first Baby Showers and the growth ultrasound!!
Nursery progress:  Lots of progress being made, I promise.  Doesn't appear that way from the pictures but you should see our basement, also known as the workshop as of late!

finished crib!

In other news:
We attended a fundraiser event, "Snow Ball", this past weekend for Main Street Greeneville.
I'm proud of myself for gettting dressed up and going out when I don't feel so cute!  Ha

Until next time....

3-1

Watson celebrated the big 3-1 this week!  His Golden Birthday, 31 on the 31st.  I had to work in Johnson City the night of his birthday so he and his family met me up there and we went out for pizza.  His favorite food EVER so I know he was pleased!  I'm so bad about taking pictures :/  I must get better!

24 weeks

24 weeks
a.k.a. - the last weeks of my 2nd trimester

Can't believe in just a few short months, our little guy will be here!

(You'll have to excuse the pics - they are post work-out)

Total weight gain/loss?  13 lbs
Size of baby:  1.5 lbs
Maternity clothes?  sometimes yes, sometimes no.  I'm one of those that highly dislikes maternity clothes and will hang on to my regular clothes as long as possible!!
Stretch marks? thankfully no!
Sleep?  sleeping great, well that's if you consider getting up twice in a night great
Best moment of the past few weeks?   great check-up at our last Dr appt :)
Miss anything? My ability to reach down to put on tights, socks, shoes.  This task we all take for granted is becoming more challenging every day.  I told Watson he would have to start dressing me soon! haha!!
Movement?  oh yeah - lots of kicks, punches, hiccups :)
Food cravings?  coffee drinks, cereal and sweets. Boo!  I was hoping I could hold out on the sweets, but looks like that's not going to happen!
Anything make you queasy or sick?  ground turkey - everything about it!
Symptoms:  leg cramps, round ligament pain, itchy stomach - ya know, the usual
Gender prediction? It's a boy!
Belly button, in or out? in
Wedding rings, on or off? on
Happy or Moody? Happy!
Looking forward to? clearing out the nursery and closet then filling it back up again :)
Nursery progress:   All big furniture is purchased and some of his bedding!  YAY!  A couple of the furniture pieces still need a little TLC though.  We have set a mid-February deadline to complete.  We'll see how that works out for us!

Crib is up and walls are painted!

One corner of the room is getting filled with goodies!   Now, onto moving in the rest of the furniture!

DISCLAIMER: For some reason the wall color looks totally different in each of these pics.  It's really a mix between the two.

and Baby Leonard is......

a BOY!!!!!

Riggs Family "Gender Reveal"
Since we were not able to tell all of our family members, in person, that we are expecting, we wanted to do something fun to tell them the gender of our baby.  I know the anticipation stunk but it was  fun for us!

Dad unwrapping the first box
then Kristin
then my Great Uncle, Larry
Grandaddy Larry was next
then my Great Aunt, Darlene
then Clint
and finally, Mom with "BOY!"
Team Pink (those that thought we were having a girl)
Team Blue (those that were right - hehe!)

Leonard Family "Gender Reveal"

All of the girls teamed up to open each box together
Funny that they were all wearing pink!

Happy Grandfather!
