Taking it day by day!

Maternity Pic Sneak Peak

We weren't sure about getting maternity pics taken but after seeing these, I'm so glad we did!  I wanted something casual with no bare belly showing (sorry if you like that sort of thing).  They certainly won't be pictures we plaster all over the house but it will be fun to look back on and see how big I was.  Plus, it will be fun for Riggs to see himself in my belly when he gets older :)

Delta Shower

This was the first shower for us so it was super exciting!  We, well he, got some many fun and practical things.  Overwhelming on where to store and what to do with it all!  

Thanks girls for such a creative shower and a fun-filled morning with friends!!

Family Shower

My Mom's family threw my cousin and I a joint shower the same weekend.  Worked out perfect!  We got lots of goodies at this shower as well!  He's already spoiled!!!

Parker and Riggs will be about 6 weeks apart!

Cousin, Rebecca, who was due the Tuesday following this shower.  What a trooper!  Parker arrived on Friday, the 16th.

32 weeks

32 weeks, or 56 days

This month, I'm bringing you "Stupid things people have said that really annoy me":

• "Get all the sleep you can now before he gets here."  Really??  They act like I'm never going to sleep again!  Ever.  Like I sleep through the night now.
• "You look pregnant today!"  Well, that's because I am.  Carrying about a 4 lb. baby in there.  Next time I think I'll say "well you do too.  Oh wait, that's your gut."
• After telling someone our name, they then proceed to tell me all of the names they don't like.  I'm guessing they're going to add Riggs to the list...
• "How are you feeling?"  Me: "Slowing down and a little tired but I really can't complain."  Them: "It's only going to get worse."  I wonder why the h*ll they even ask!  Do they not think I know that.  I know that I'm only going to get bigger, its going to be harder to move around, walk, sleep, etc.  I'M PREGNANT - that's normal!!

It's funny how pregnancy brings people to say and give unsolicited advice.  I'd always heard it would happen and the population hasn't disappointed me thus far.  I'm making a pact now to never say these things ;)

Total weight gain? ?   I don't look at the scale anymore.  I'll weigh in at the hospital.  However, the nurse did tell me that I was doing great on managing my weight :)

Size of baby:  4 lbs.

Maternity clothes?  yes

Stretch marks?  something else I'm in denial about

Sleep? It's getting harder with appendages in my rib cage.  Still makes me smile when though because I know he's in there and moving around.  I sleep about 2-3 hours at a time: bathroom toss and turn, sleep, bathroom, well you get the picture.

Best moment of the past few weeks?  We started our Lamaze/parenting classes at the hospital this week.  HILARIOUS to say the least!  Next week, I'm taking video of Watson's expressions.
Another great check-up for me and Riggs both.  Blood pressure and weight in check, plenty of amniotic fluid and he's already head down.  Whoa!
He weighs in at 4 lbs!  Can't remember is length - arg!  Anyway, they stated that everything is within normal range.  However, as I watched the tech measure various parts (head, abdomen, spine, arms, legs) I just watched the due date calculator continue to change.  At one point, we believe it was when she was measuring his head, it said "April 14" and I got wide-eyed and Watson was on the floor.  Ha - j/k!  No, seriously though, I'm getting anxious that we may have an April baby, like next month April.  Or maybe his head is going to be ginormous! (that doesn't help my anxiety level, especially after attending class).  I'm blaming the Leonards for the latter. Who knows, maybe he'll surprise us and stay put until May!

Miss anything?  same as last month - my independence.  If you wanted to give advice (as referenced above), at this point you would say "well you're never going to get it back with a little one around." or something like that.

Movement?  much harder kicks, punches, jabs

Food cravings?  not really anything consistent.  Most often would be Mexican or sweets

Anything make you queasy or sick? nope

Symptoms:  leg cramps, stuffy nose, occasional heartburn - means he's growing hair right?!  On the hair note, we saw some on the ultrasound - whoo hoo!

Gender prediction? Still a boy!  I asked again during ultrasound

Wedding rings, on or off? on

Happy or Moody?  Happy!  I couldn't have hand-picked a more supportive, loving husband, best friend and future father.  Watson is so encouraging!!!  He always tells me how well I'm doing, how cute I look and how proud he is of me. He won't let me do much anymore, especially in the way of housework - no cooking, dishes, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms.
I have also vowed to not get stressed over the nursery.  It. will. get. done.  I've also come to my senses, for the most part, about weight gain, stretch marks and other fun stuff.

Looking forward to?  TriDelta and Family Showers this weekend!  I can not wait to see college friends and Mom's side of the family.  Still surreal that it's my shower this time...

Blogging help needed!

I need blogging help!  Thus far, I've mastered changing the backgrounds, writing posts and uploading pictures.  I can not figure out how to change my header to something less generic.  I would love multiple pictures or to be able to design my own header.  Argh!  In case you haven't noticed, the current header picture is HUGE!  That's because I can't figure out how to downsize it...

Any advice out there from you blogger experts???  You know who you are - you have awesome looking pages!  Can you lead me in the right direction or send me to a tutorial?
