From 2 months until now at 3 months, Riggs' personality and development have changed so much!! He's getting so much easier - he doesn't cry much at all unless he's tired. Of course crying is his only means of communication, besides smiling of course. Think about how much we could cry if that's the only way we could communicate!! Anyway, when he does cry, we know how to distinguish hunger vs. sleep cries. Still sleeping about 7-8 hrs at a time during the night, eats, then sleeps about 2-3 more. Yay!! He smiles A LOT - especially after eating, when he's playing and after a good nights sleep :) Lots of "talking" as well. I just love his little voice. (mental note: record it) He's also very alert, follows our every move and listens intently like he completely understands everything we're saying. Ha! He has also discovered his hands, well he loves to put them in his mouth and suck on them and is starting to swat at things. Can't believe how fast he is growing up!
....family vacation to Highlands, NC with the Leonard family
....trip out of state
....time sleeping in his own bed
....rolled over! Watson saw it first. Yes, I was sad because I was at home eating lunch. However, I captured a video later that afternoon (see below)
....time meeting Uncle Jason and Cousin Katie
....time meeting lots of high school and college friends
....moved to Size 1 diapers
....time to daycare :( We are calling it "school" because after all he is learning, right?
So of course as he is developing this great personality, I returned to work this week. Trying not to cry as I type this.... I thought this day was so far away but suddenly it's here. Mixed emotions about the situation - ready to have some sort of routine again but not ready for the work load, leaving Riggs and balancing work and family time.
On the bright side, the place we are taking him is wonderful! There are only 8 kids in the class and 3 teachers - so lots of hands. He is in there with a couple of boys that are within a few weeks of age, along with some others that are a couple months older. Probably will be the same kids that he goes to Kindergarten with - small town ya know! It will be great for him to have social interaction with other kids/adults, get exposed to some nasty germs (I say this now) and have teachers that know exactly how to "teach" him on a developmentally appropriate level. Even though I have a Child Development major, some things have abandoned my brain!!!
On another bright side, I'll only be working Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays for now so Mondays and Fridays are Mommy and Riggs time!
Now to the fun part - pictures! Bear with me.... I take a lot of pictures. I just think he's too cute not to post them, plus there are a lot of people that don't seem him often so the more pictures the better!

As you can see, our life consists of Riggs. Therefore, my posts are monthly and consist of Riggs. I wish I had time to post more often. Oh well, I'll be able to one day.
Until next month....
